Ministry Description |
The Congregational Church of Westminster West (UCC) seeks a half-time Settled Pastor (20 hours/week) to lead our vibrant, Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation in a small Vermont village. We see our church as becoming stronger and more dedicated to both its inward seeking and outward reaching. We aspire to be the center and the support for our small village community while reaching beyond Westminster West with our Jesus-led ministries of feeding our sheep and making peace. We seek to continue our practices of shared worship – celebration, faithful questioning, biblical literacy, applied faith, good fellowship and music ministry. These aspirations will benefit from the guidance and collaboration of a spiritual leader and mentor–one who facilitates and participates in our spiritual direction and helps us with our outreach to each other and to the community. The pastor we seek will be a storyteller, working with the stories of our faith and our lives; a catalyst, strengthening our strengths and empowering us to fulfil our spiritual paths; and a paraclete, supporting and advocating for us in the ways of the Holy Spirit. We are a "lively band of confident seekers" valuing social justice and radical hospitality. Key goals include deepening intergenerational connection and integrating earth-based spirituality.
