Ministry Description: Morningside Hills UCC (the merged congregations of Edina Morningside UCC and Linden Hills UCC) is a small-but-mighty, open-and-affirming, progressive Minneapolis church where people renew their spirits, grow in faith, and act for justice. Following a successful, eight-year pastorate, we’re looking for a new pastor who will help lead this welcoming, loving, and justice-minded congregation as we seek to deepen our faith and better the lives of people in our community, state, country, and world. Ideally, our new pastor will provide leadership and spiritual guidance to and among congregational members and visitors; lead weekly worship, working with our music director, faith formation director, and lay leaders to offer creative, coordinated, and sometimes outside-the-box worship services; write and preach inspiring and challenging sermons that include biblical teachings yet relate to our challenging world; work flexible hours to best serve our congregation and mission; welcome and support new members; guide church mission engagement; provide pastoral care in cooperation with our community minister; and collaborate with other churches and faith-based organizations. Morningside Hills is located in Morningside, a historic neighborhood of Edina, a first-ring suburb of Minneapolis. |
