Ministry Description |
Our church is known for being a welcoming, open, and affirming congregation where all people are embraced with love and acceptance. We are deeply committed to social justice and activism, striving to create a community where everyone is valued and included. Through our ecumenical and interfaith relationships, as well as our involvement in Muskegon County Cooperating Churches, we work to build bridges across faith traditions and stand for racial and social justice. Our members are compassionate, friendly, and dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us. Music is at the heart of our worship and identity. Our excellent traditional music program, featuring choral ensembles and a magnificent organ, enriches our services and uplifts the spirit. In addition to inspiring music, our sermons are thought-provoking and deeply rooted in Biblical scholarship, offering wisdom and guidance that resonates throughout the week. Our commitment to lifelong learning extends beyond the pulpit, with engaging discussions, guest speakers, and educational programs that challenge and inspire our congregation. Beyond our church walls, we actively serve the community through profound outreach efforts. Our downtown location allows us to be a beacon of support for those in need, offering a Saturday breakfast, a mobile food pantry, an in-house food pantry, and a thriving community garden. These programs ensure that individuals and families have access to nourishment and care. Ultimately, our church is known for being a place where faith is put into action. We give generously of our time, talents, and treasures, striving to make the world a more just and compassionate place. As we look to the future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to progressive Christianity, ensuring that our legacy of love, justice, and inclusion continues for generations to come. |
