Ministry Description |
Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda feels we are a forgiving & loving faith community. We are a living body, continually growing in our journey with God. Our church has a strong, caring ministry. We are quick to provide for the sick, shut-in, those in need and those in crisis. We are engaged with the wider Berrien County community through our involvement in the Baroda Bible Church Food Pantry, Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen and the CROP Hunger Walk. Our Ladies Fellowship helps to provide several opportunities for community outreach through their cookie walks, soup and salad luncheons and rummage sales. Every Sunday, our church holds one service, which begins at 9:00 am. and lasts about an hour. We follow the liturgical calendar and our order of worship currently tends toward the traditional. Immediately following the worship service is a fellowship hour, during which volunteers provide food, snacks and drinks to the congregation. It is a time to visit and catch up with each other. We seek a pastor who will provide scripture-based sermons that help us navigate life and are encouraging and thought provoking. Our desire is for a pastor that will foster the skills and practices necessary to build community within our congregation and with our neighbors, someone who can collaborate with us to find creative ways to appeal to young families in our communities. |
