Ministry Description |
A quiet laid-back community of 2,559 people nestled between the bluffs along the Mississippi River. This beautiful area is known for its fishing, hunting, boating swimming, theater, and other recreational activities far away from the big city bustle, but close enough to the cities to be able to take advantage of their many offerings. It is a warm and accepting community and a friendly place to raise a family. The United Church of Christ, Wabasha, was established in 1857 and is a well-kept church with an active membership of about 51, and another 50 members who are not currently able to participant but have strong connection to this church home. Several fund-raising activities are held each year to supplement out budget but also brings us together to celebrate who we are. We are currently seeking a half-time pastor but are exploring options to have a full-time pastor in our future. Responsibilities of this person include leading religious services with relevant sermons, providing spiritual guidance, performing weddings, funerals, and Baptism for our church family, participants in community ecumenical services, and other involvement as time allows. A successful candidate should have effective communication skills and community building experience. |
