Ministry Description |
Located in north central Massachusetts, First Congregational Church of Westminster has a rich history, a dedicated town community, and a group of faithful servants who seek an engaging, dynamic pastor to join them as a leader. We desire to be a congregation balancing old and new traditions encouraging growth: spiritual, personal, stewardship, and as a faith community. Spiritual leadership is a cornerstone of our faith needs; we seek someone who can energetically reconnect and strengthen the faith of the current members, generously guide us with the help of God to more clearly define and intentionally live out our purpose, and gracefully extend community reach through worship and service to grow membership. We want to build on the work of our active Church School, Women’s Fellowship, and support of a community food pantry. Your optimistic and sturdy leadership will be the driving energy that helps us see the future of our church, think and act creatively and collaboratively, and work to overcome challenges together. Our hope is a church building filled with the sounds of all ages joining in laughter, songs of praise, prayer, storytelling, and the important work of deeply understanding each other. Westminster has a small-town New England village feel and is an ideal location to live, work, and play due to its easy access to both Boston and Worcester for employment. We have an excellent regional school system and supportive town administration, services, and programs. We have close proximity to hiking and skiing (Mt. Wachusett), biking and more recreational leisure activities. Our updated four-bedroom parsonage is situated downtown and within walking distance to the church as well as to a village market, farmer’s market, the library, restaurants, the elementary school and green space. We are grateful for our history, community, staff, beautiful location, our building, and are excited to partner with a pastor who sees the joy and promise in our present and future. |
