Ministry Description |
We are looking for a Pastor who will help us to continue to grow in faith and community. We are a church with new and old traditions and a strong commitment to faith, who love our Lord and want to share that love through our worship and through our caring for those in our midst and throughout the world. We are an Open and Affirming Church, with a congregation that enjoys attending worship and being in fellowship with one another, embracing all who come through our doors. We acknowledge, as brothers and sisters in Christ, those who share in this confession; but we are also seeking relationships with the people in our community, recognizing in others God's infinite creativity and intended diversity. Due to many factors, we have seen a decline in our membership, attendance, and children in our Christian Education and Faith Enrichment program. We have added new programs and events which offer opportunities for our congregation to engage with the community. Core competencies for our new Pastor should include: a strong ability in strategic planning for the growth and life of the church, working in partnership with our staff and church leaders to ensure that on-going needs of the church are met, be willing and able to interact with the congregation to develop our leadership skills and help us grow in our faith journey. Our hope is to find a Pastor who can partner with lay leadership in innovative and creative ways, evaluating our mission and ministries to continue our engagement in the community in addressing their needs. There is a genuine love for our church and our desire is to find a spiritual leader who can help us coalesce around a shared vision that turns our dreams into reality. Our congregation also desires a candidate who can deliver sermons that relate the lessons in the Bible to our everyday lives. We desire to grow this congregation so the benefits we have enjoyed from living our faith will continue well into the future. |
