Ministry Description |
Zion UCC has been a community presence and spiritual leader in the Le Sueur area for over 150 years. We seek a full-time settled pastor ready to walk with us into our future. Someone with vision and courage and who is an inspiring, faith-filled and creative leader is who we feel God is guiding us to call to Zion. Le Sueur is a smaller community in the MN River valley with easy access to Minneapolis/Saint Paul. Mankato, our regional hub, and 3 colleges are within 30 miles of Zion. We seek a pastor who will continue to help us improve youth & young adult faith formation and youth participation. Zion seeks a communicator who can prepare inspiring, relatable sermons & worship services that speak to the needs of our entire congregation. Our church desires a leader who can nurture and continuously develop lay leadership both within the church and out into our communities. We envision our new minister being someone who reinforces our current acts of charity in our community, while leading us to discover even more ways to serve all in need. One of our strongest assets are lay people who are willing to take on leadership in our church. We are generous and eagerly engage with new visitors or in outreach projects. We are a group of active volunteers both within and outside our walls. Our membership vows call us to be followers of Jesus Christ and in covenant with each other. We value fellowship and social interactions outside of worship. Zion has no debt, several endowments to draw on, and continues to meet its annual budget and the call to complete capital campaigns year after year. Our mission statement, “Called by God, Committed to Christ, Connected in the Holy Spirit” is something our congregation tries to live each day. The members of Zion seek a pastor who can help us carry out out this mission and relate God’s word to our everyday lives. |
