Ministry Description |
Peace United Church of Christ, located in Duluth, is seeking a full-time lead pastor. Duluth is a beautiful city on a hill overlooking Lake Superior that offers year-round recreational opportunities, a youthful entrepreneurship culture, and outstanding education and healthcare. Peace is a welcoming, nurturing, affirming, and inclusive church. We are a voice for peace and justice and are always present to the needs within our congregation, the wider Duluth community and globally. We are an open and affirming congregation who strive to welcome people from diverse backgrounds and to value, honor, understand and embrace human diversity across all its dimensions. We work to fulfill God’s plan for us, while fully living the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Peace Church is respected as an important leader of Faith within the Duluth community and is a covenantal partner with the UCC. Our staff include our Faith Formation Minister, music director, office coordinator, bookkeeper, building use coordinator, custodian, interim associate minister, interim pastoral care associate, assistant to children’s minister, and tech team member. We also have ministers in our congregation who are retired or in three- or four-way covenants. At Peace Church we live our Vision in all that we do, which is to be an accessible, open and affirming community growing in Christian faith, committed to peace and justice, and reaching out in healing love to all people, respecting the diversity of people’s sexual orientation, race, culture, gender, age, opinions, and physical and mental abilities. We seek a pastor who will create nurturing, challenging and meaningful worship experiences, provide pastoral care and administrative leadership, and partner with us as we continue to live out our vision. |
