Ministry Description |
Miami Shores Community Church is a progressive, friendly, and welcoming community; we are an Open and Affirming congregation. Our members and friends come from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles which provide a beautiful tapestry of culture, food, music, and belief. We are committed to giving back to the community, especially through the Miami Shores Community Church School which was established in 1952 and remains a vital part of our local mission. We seek a Designated Term Pastor who is a competent administrator who works with us to ensure that worship and music, fellowship activities, school events, and justice efforts enrich the spiritual life of our members and attract visitors. Our DTP will be an effective communicator and demonstrate a leadership style that empowers members to develop and use their gifts. Facing several challenges, including strengthening membership and increasing participation, exploring new governance models, healing and learning from recent conflict, recovering from pandemic fallout, and expanding our presence in the wider community, we are committed to doing the work to be a vibrant, progressive voice for the Gospel. Honoring our rich traditions, we seek to embrace new ideas to better meet the needs of our changing congregation and community. |
