Ministry Description |
The Indiana Kentucky Conference UCC Disaster Ministry (DPRMT) is scheduling work camps for September through November, 2022. This project is being managed by the Conference Disaster Coordinator: Greg Denk, gehreskb@gmail.com National Staff for Disaster: Lesli Remaly, remalyl@ucc.org National Staff for Volunteers: Elena Larssen, LarssenE@ucc.org Since last March, our volunteers have put in 1,172 hours, which equates to $35,116 in labor donated to restore five homes damaged during the Dec 10/11, 2021 tornadoes. We need a 6-week notice of when your church or group would like to volunteer so we can properly plan for work and housing. The registration forms are available on the IKC website under the Disaster Preparedness tab: https://ikcucc.org/disaster-preparedness/ Please keep in mind generous offers from several donors have been received to financially sponsor ($125 scholarship) work camp volunteers. We have 5 such scholarships currently available. Also, through a national grant from the UCC, 50% of the fuel expense incurred by the volunteer on the work camp is eligible for reimbursement.
