Ministry Description |
Small -yet hoping to grow- Chapel Street Congregational Church is seeking a full time settled pastor and teacher to guide us in our next steps toward ministry in our congregation and out in our surrounding communities. We have solid financial means to support our ministries. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. The candidate must be able to demonstrate ability to lead worship service, an interest in faith formation (both youth and adults), and provide pastoral care to the congregation, both in church and home visits working with lay leaders. Leadership can be developed through good communication in church. We are looking for a pastor who will listen to diverse views, participate in ongoing discussions, and build consensus to create ministry and programming. Chapel Street is a multi-generational Open and Affirming congregation. Technology and a social media presence are important in today’s world and our new pastor will need to be comfortable in the arena of social/digital media. Our historic church is in a small and quiet residential community situated in northern RI, with good schools and activities for all ages. Rhode Island has universities and colleges located nearby. There are state parks and beaches close by for outdoor activities. Providence is only 10 minutes and Boston is only 40 minutes away. |
