Ministry Description |
Grace Congregational United Church of Christ is seeking a full time settled minister to partner with us as we worship and continue to grow our mission. Founded in 1773, we have a rich history and a beautiful brick façade building to house our congregation. Rutland is located in a valley surrounded by the Green Mountains. There are numerous lakes, hiking trails and the largest ski area in the east, for those who value the open air. Vermont boasts a four season climate. We want a minister who will lead by example and preach to impart biblical wisdom and connect to the world we live in. We would like someone who will listen and work with our team. Grace has a strong and active music ministry with a full time Minister of Music, Dr. Alastair Stout, the only church in Vermont with a full time minister of music. Our music program is vibrant and has a choir, as well as a bell choir and a beautiful Aeolian Skinner Organ. Dr. Stout leads many concerts presented to the Rutland community and beyond and the program is an excellent outreach to and for our community. Our congregation is Open and Affirming and we fly the flag inviting all in the community to join with us in worship. We have a very active, if aging congregation and support many committees within the church program. The pandemic affected Sunday worship in many ways yet we found we could work around this through local television, You Tube and Facebook. We have been back in the sanctuary almost a year. Our numbers have dipped but will surely recover with an end to the pandemic and a settled minister. Our youth program is small but active with an inter-generational group. We also currently house two local church programs whose churches closed. We hope you will reach out to receive our Profile.
