Ministry Description |
Medford Congregational United Church of Christ is an Open and Affirming congregation. We are designated a Just Peace and Creation Justice Church. Our goal is to serve those in need while offering meaningful outreach and worship. We are a community grounded in Progressive Christian Theology and believe we are called to define and discern our ministry for the future. Our pastor is retiring. She is leaving us in good condition and with good will. We are a healthy congregation and dedicated to being a valuable support system for our pastor. We work closely with many charities and non-profits in our area, and several use our facility regularly for meetings and special events. Our pastor has been a pillar in this Christian community, and we encourage the interaction. We are seeking an Intentional Interim Pastor who, with vision, will lead us through a successful transition, providing continuity in work, pastoral care, and oversight of programs and staff. The primary concerns of the congregation are the desire to return to regular use of our beautiful but aging sanctuary and extended use of technology for live-streaming and social media. A reorganization of church facilities is one of our major challenges. Competence with and belief in the importance of technology in churches are paramount. During the pandemic we understood the value of online viewing. We invested in up-grading and enhancing our technology to provide weekly services to maintain connection with our members and the global community. |
