Ministry Description |
Macalester Plymouth United Church is looking to hire a full-time associate minister who will work collaboratively with the lead minister and lead our children’s and youth programs. We belong to both the Presbyterian (USA) and the United Church of Christ (UCC) and are a progressive congregation that values inclusivity and has a passion for social justice. We have a racial justice steward team leading us in the work of antiracism. Our church is proud to declare ourselves an Open and Affirming church of the UCC and a More Light congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA). We celebrate all God’s people, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+. We are a community of seekers, exploring questions of faith together. The collaborative culture of this church is also reflective in the collaborative ministry of the pastors. We are deeply committed to peacemaking and caring for the earth, as a Just Peace congregation and a Creation Justice Church. We are located in the Macalester-Groveland neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota, a neighborhood recently named by niche.com as the top neighborhood in all of Minnesota! The broader area of Minneapolis and St. Paul, known as the Twin Cities, is a culturally and racially diverse area rich in parks, lakes, bike paths, theaters, museums, and sports. There is an academic vibe here in the neighborhood, with multiple colleges and bigger universities nearby. If you are excited about taking the lead to re-build a fun and supportive program for kids and teens, while working collaboratively with the lead minister to support our congregational needs, social justice work, and our racial justice journey, we’d love to meet you! |
