Ministry Description |
First Church of Christ in Saybrook, Congregational is seeking an Interim Minister to help guide us through the period of transition due to the retirement of our current settled pastor, Rev. Ed Cornell. We would like the Interim Minister to start by December 15, 2021 (+/-) to coincide with Rev. Cornell’s retirement plans. The Interim Minister’s scope of work will include: leading worship, head of staff, leadership development, stewardship, faith formation, and community engagement. Starting in 2018, prior to the onset of the pandemic, we began experimenting with new ways to experience worship on Sunday mornings, including adding a Jazz Service and broadcasting services via Facebook Live. Our Parish Nurse has added a ministry in meditation. We now hold most of our meetings via hybrid Zoom and in-person. Therefore, our Interim Minister must be technologically comfortable to lead and guide us in worship and meetings. We are interested in exploring new kinds of music, discerning and defining new ministry activities, finding more ways to include our children and youth in service, and being more creative with the use of our buildings. |
