Ministry Description |
The historic Volunteer Ministries program of the National Setting is collaborating with St. Stephens-Bethlehem UCC to place long term volunteers. The congregation is working toward flipping their program model to serve the surrounding food-insecure community; this will involve remodeling the campus to serve as a Mission Inn Site with a guesthouse for visiting volunteer teams. Skills needed are many but no one person is expected to "do it all": program management, volunteer coordination, marketing, grant writing, construction management, food and grocery coordination. Ideal applicants are ready for a full time volunteer appointment of 3 to 12 months, prepared to serve in setting that is changing and transforming, and passionate about feeding the hungry in body and spirit. The Partner will report to Rev. Sara Campbell. Housing and a stipend to defray costs to the volunteer will be arranged by Volunteer Ministries, if needed.
