Ministry Description |
Located in the center of a small town, Emmanuel UCC enjoys fostering a tight-knit and laid-back approach to community, away from the busier style of an urban setting. The population around us is changing, and while we seek to be a constant in the lives of those who know us as a 175-year establishment, we are excited to welcome newcomers. Our church has individuals who provide outreach to our neighbors, but our goal is to create church-wide ministries that are more coordinated and publicly visible, so that people outside of our walls also participate. Building these relationships includes inviting young families into church participation and membership. Our next pastor will lead, encourage, and motivate us to use our talents to move us forward into a fulfilling and growth-oriented ministry. This person will also recognize and tend to the needs of those who are feeling isolated by change. Being in a budding area, we look to move from being a congregation of primarily retirees to a more active, vibrant intergenerational church as the wider community around the church is developing. |
