Ministry Description |
We are an intimate, engaged congregation active i n mission and environmental concerns, and committed to racial justice. We are an Open and Affirming and a Creation Justice church. We value intelligent preaching, well-designed worship, good music, good humor, a welcoming pastoral presence, and leadership in addressing the challenges of life in the 21st century from a Christian perspective. Located between Vermont’s Green Mountains and Lake Champlain, just outside of vibrant Middlebury with its excellent liberal arts college, a fine small hospital, and many cultural amenities, Weybridge itself was historically focused on agriculture but is now predominantly a residential community. The town has a mix of people working locally, elsewhere, or telecommuting, a well-known, active dairy farm, several small construction businesses, and a number of retired people. Our church has several members from nearby towns, attracted by our worship, our fellowship, and our social and environmental concerns. We seek a pastor who will join us on our Christian journey, building on the good work we have done with our previous pastors. We are open to new ideas and seek to be stretched as we express our Christian faith with intelligence, humility, and sincerity. Our Pastor will be energetic, well-organized, technologically nimble, and ready to be our companion and leader. |
