Ministry Description |
The United Church of Cookeville (UCC) is an inclusive fellowship dedicated to seeking and serving Christ with humility and love. We are the progressive voice of Christ in a very conservative area. Community and mission-oriented, those who know The United Church of Cookeville (UCC) recognize us as “the little church with the big heart.” Representing Jesus to our community, this past year we have engaged in service to foster families, homeless individuals, and agencies serving “the least of those among us.” An open and affirming congregation, we have participated in demonstrations denouncing racism, xenophobia, and other acts of intolerance. We seek to be the voice of Jesus in this community providing a loving alternative to the heavily unsympathetic voices around us. (yes I used a thesaurus). We seek a pastor who will lead with courage, enthusiasm, and dignity while assisting us in connecting with others who may want to join our community of faith. |
