Ministry Description |
The Elcho and Kempster congregations formed in 1921 and united with Summit Lake, Forest and Post Lake to become The Hyland Lakes Parish on August 15, 1943. Only Elcho and Kempster remain active and are celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2021. We are congregations of mostly middle age folks and older. Many of the participants have moved to this beautiful and pristine area in retirement, and their children and grandchildren live elsewhere. Almost half of the participants move to a warmer climate during the winter months. We are looking for a pastor to help us bring younger families to the congregations. We need to reach out to and attract folks in the area that are unchurched or between churches in order to grow. We are a community church and our pavilion in Elcho could be further utilized in our efforts to involve the wider community and grow. |
