Ministry Description |
Full time, Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm. Must be willing to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends. On call schedule rotation weekly from Monday 8am to Monday 8am. Hospice and Bereavement Chaplain is a trained interdisciplinary team member who provides, spiritual and emotional support to terminally ill patients and members of their families, mandated bereavement support for hospice patient families, and additional bereavement care and support for individuals and groups in the wider community. This position requires the ability to work with people of various religious faiths and cultures. The hospice and bereavement chaplain participates with other members of the interdisciplinary team in identifying the bereavement needs of individuals and families by defining goals which address individual needs and providing the highest quality service to meet those needs. Master’s degree in ministry, counseling or social work preferred. Minimum of two years or equivalent full time experience in bereavement counseling within the last five years and hospice experience preferred. Clinical pastoral education training preferred. Certificate preferred (i.e., APC, NACC, AAPC, NAJC, HCMA, OR NAVAC) Valid state driver’s license and reliable automobile, current automobile insurance and be willing to operate personal car necessitated by nature of job. |
