Baker Community Church United Church of Christ (BCC-UCC) in Baker, Montana is a small church in a rural community. Baker has a population of around 1,750, located in southeastern Montana, not far from North Dakota. The economy of the area lies in agriculture and the oil industry. Baker Community Church UCC has over 100 years in existence and is currently seeking pastoral leadership. BCC-UCC has just over 45 members with a normal Sunday seeing 15-25 in the pews for services. We do have young families in the church and have Sunday School classes during the school year. Even though we are small in numbers and have been without a permanent pastor for over three years, we stay active and vital in the community. On Thursday nights we host a community dinner for anyone who wants to come and enjoy the meal and fellowship of visiting with others. What started out offering home-cooked dinners for oil field workers. It has evolved into a mealtime for those seniors who don't want to cook or eat alone and others who just enjoy what we are offering. There is no charge, just a free-will offering. BCC-UCC has been doing this almost weekly for 5 years. * Other outreaches to our community by BCC include singing hymns and folk songs 4 times a month at the assisted living center and the nursing home. We are joined by a couple from another church to do this. * We are also in rotation with 5 or 6 other area churches offering Sunday afternoon services in both the assisted living facility and the nursing home. * We take World Day of Prayer with Lutherans and Catholics and also Cowboy Church (along with other churches) during the county fair.
