Ministry Description |
Old South Church is a congregation with a deep sense of belonging, care, and shared identity. Members consistently describe a church that supports one another in times of need, values meaningful worship, and is especially energized by its commitment to service in the wider community. Many speak of the church as a place that has made a real difference in their spiritual lives, with music standing out as a central and defining strength. At the same time, we are a congregation in a season of discernment—seeking deeper spiritual growth, more visible and consistent pastoral care, and clearer, more transparent patterns of communication and leadership. This work has already begun to shape us, as we listen more carefully to one another, name both strengths and challenges, and move toward a more shared and open way forward. Looking ahead, we hope to grow in ways that welcome new generations, strengthen faith formation across all ages, and sustain our presence in the community while honoring the traditions that have shaped us. We envision a congregation that is more connected, more communicative, and more intentional in how we live out our faith together—one where people are known, supported, and invited into deeper participation, and where our presence in Windsor is visible, engaged, and responsive. This includes thoughtful and creative stewardship of our historic building as a resource for the wider community. To move in that direction, we are seeking a pastor who is relational, present, and spiritually grounded—someone who can preach with depth and clarity, connect faith to everyday life, and walk alongside us. We are not looking for someone to carry this work alone, but for a partner in ministry who will help nurture our shared calling as we continue becoming a more open, engaged, and faithful community.
