Ministry Description |
McFarland United Church of Christ, a Church with Heart, is a thriving congregation in the suburbs of Madison that looks to continue our legacy of community engagement and social justice. Our commitment as an Open and Affirming church is reinforced every Sunday as we collectively state the ONA Welcoming Statement at the start of each worship service. We live out our progressive values by pursuing social justice through our ministry teams and actions. We recognize the importance of human interaction and kindness while we demonstrate this at each worship service and throughout our local community. We are a community of learners who continually look to expand our spiritual growth and connections within a framework of compassion and love. We are seeking a settled pastor who will inspire us to expand our community engagement and social justice actions while guiding us on our journey of growth and sustainability. We seek a candidate who will support our ministry teams in their work and assist us as we clarify priorities. We desire an individual who will expand connections beyond the walls of our church, especially as we seek to collaborate with youth affiliated with local churches. We seek someone who will support faith formation for all ages with Sunday messages that connect faith with the current joys and challenges we face individually as well as a community. Our successful candidate will oversee an Administrative Assistant and an organist/pianist. Our pastor will be supported by strong and committed lay leaders. |
