Ministry Description |
The uniqueness of our church is that we are a O&A church, the only church in our city that celebrates & officiates same-gender marriages. Our new Pastor should have a strong commitment to seeking justice, a sense of belonging to the wider UCC Community, knowledge of and acceptance of an ONA congregation, and a willingness to assist the Hope UCC congregation as we move forward. The vision of the coming years is to be more visibly engaged, to expand our community and to ensure that we are known as a place of radical welcome. We are committed to expanding our outreach so that our neighbors – especially those seeking an inclusive spiritual home – clearly know that all are welcome, valued and affirmed. As we grow, we will continue to strengthen and expand our church family relationships, nurture spiritual depth and live out our faith through meaningful acts of love, justice and service. Our presence in the community will be active and visible – through partnerships, service and participation in local events, including Pride and other celebrations of diversity.
