St. John’s is a resilient, justice-minded congregation known for our radical hospitality—a community where all are truly welcome. We offer spiritual refuge to those disillusioned by prior church experiences and are grounded in inclusion, thoughtful worship, and shared leadership. Our vision is to grow slowly and sustainably, expanding our welcome to more families and individuals in their 30s to 50s while deepening our spiritual life and financial stability. We seek a compassionate, collaborative pastor who will journey alongside us. This leader should honor our lay-led model, preach with depth and relevance, and bring emotional and spiritual intelligence to all aspects of ministry. A strong theological foundation, clear communication, and a passion for justice and inclusion are key. St. John’s worship blends tradition and creativity. We engage our wider community through partnerships with organizations like UCOM and Feeding America, and we’re proud to be a Veteran/Military Friendly congregation. Our history reflects courage and resilience—from becoming Open and Affirming in 2008 to navigating the COVID-19 pandemic and healing from the 2020 embezzlement of church funds. Through all of this, we’ve grown stronger, more transparent, and more grounded in our mission. We believe God is calling us to be a sanctuary for authenticity, compassion, and bold love—and we are ready to welcome a leader who will walk with us in that calling. |
