Bethlehem UCC is an urban church within walking distance from the vibrant University of Michigan campus and a short drive to the Eastern Michigan campus. Bethlehem United Church of Christ is an Open and Affirming church which has served the Ann Arbor area for over 190+ years. We are seeking a pastor who can honor and cherish our legacy while helping us shape the future. Someone who can balance BUCC’s traditions with innovative ways to build our church, utilizing some of the energy of the community and the surrounding universities - bridging generations and cultivating a spiritual life that speaks to both longtime members and newcomers alike. We believe in the power of a widening circle - drawing in people of goodwill and nurturing spaces where healing, holy work, and social transformation can take root. We look not only for inclusion, but for true belonging, intimacy, authenticity, love, and accountability which are not just aspirations for us - they are essentials. Our next pastor will embody and preach a theology of love and belonging and will actively work to ensure that our community lives into that calling. We seek a leader who helps us hear one another, hold one another, love one another; a pastor who can laugh with us. We are looking for someone who will walk alongside us—open-hearted and grounded, helping us grow, and do the hard work of being church together. |
