Who We Are: Hillsborough United Church of Christ (HUCC) is a progressive, inclusive, and multigenerational congregation in the heart of Hillsborough, NC. We are LGBTQ+ affirming, kid-friendly, and deeply committed to justice, compassion, and spiritual growth and deeply rooted in a progressive Christian faith that shows up in our everyday lives. We envision a church that blends meaningful worship with active justice work, strong pastoral care, and creative community-building. We want to continue to be welcoming to people who may never have felt at home in church before. We seek to be visibly engaged in the Hillsborough community through organized, outward-facing missions and partnerships, while building sustained opportunities for all ages that go beyond a brief Sunday morning presence. To continue on this path, we need thoughtful, steady leadership, clear communication, and a pastor who can connect faith, action, and daily living while nurturing both long-time members and new seekers. We are seeking a pastor who is collaborative, progressively theological, willing to try innovative ways of doing church, and eager to live locally and be deeply involved in the Hillsborough community as we grow together into the next chapter of our faith journey. Salary contingent upon experience, Housing allowance dependent on salary.
