Ministry Description |
The Congregational Church of Topsfield was founded in 1663 and is located next to the Common in the Town of Topsfield. We are looking for a full-time pastor who will be able to help connect our congregation to the closer and wider community. The word of God in our sermons and discussions is always connected to our daily life and keeps us focused on justice in our world. We are an energetic congregation, Open and Affirming since 2008, and we are involved in missions to support local and international organizations. Part of our Mission budget is provided by income from our restaurant at the famous Topsfield Fair, an activity that involves most of our members and helpers from our community. Heaven from Hunger, a food pantry in neighboring Peabody receives twice a week fresh produce from our own Community Garden and local gardeners all summer long. We support LifeBridge in Salem, RIM (Refugee Immigration Ministry) and encourage our Youth to get involved in the church’s mission activities. As many other churches, we lost members during COVID and the average age of our members is increasing. Working with our local community is offering new opportunities to create a better environment for all of us and we see already see changes happening. |
