Ministry Description |
The First Congregational Church of Paxton is seeking a full-time, energetic and outgoing Settled Minister to help guide us forward as we continue our faith journey. The Settled Minister’s primary mission is to help the First Congregational Church of Paxton heal, reconnect and revitalize. This requires that the Settled Minister will, through their biblical preaching, provide ministerial care, counseling and congregational leadership. Additionally, they will need to pro-actively work with the church leadership to help build its membership from Paxton and the surrounding communities. This individual will help support the congregation so that it can continue to identify its mission and purpose as the body of Christ. We are a joyful community committed to being a welcoming church. We maintain a strong presence in the community as the Protestant home of worship in Paxton. Our doors are open to all. Several years ago, our congregation took a vote to allow same-sex weddings. Post-pandemic, we continue to maintain a strong presence in the community as the Protestant home of worship in Paxton. We successfully established new community outreach during the pandemic, and we continue to maintain, an active 24-hour food pantry. Our Fellowship Hour, after the Sunday service, is well attended, and a great time to meet and greet members and visitors to our church. |
