Ministry Description |
Our historic, progressive church in a beautiful seaside town is seeking a Designated Term Associate Pastor after our previous AP of 5 years was called as our Senior Pastor in June 2024. Our church emerged from the pandemic vital and growing; in the past two years we have seen an influx of families with young children and recently retired people joining our church. We have a strong community presence in our town, a noted music ministry, a collaborative youth ministry initiative (with two other churches in town), a recent successful capital campaign, and a strong outreach ministry locally and globally. Our church has been ONA since 2008, with multiple openly-LGBTQ ministers. Our vision of where we are going is to provide: a safe spiritual home for all families and individuals; opportunities to respond to the needs and challenges in our world; strong lay leadership in spiritual care, ministry, and mission. We seek a Designated-Term Associate Pastor, beginning September 2024, to partner with our new Senior Minister and our lay leaders to build on the current strength and momentum in our church. Our church staff is collaborative and joyful, and our church members are actively involved in the life of the church and the town. We would welcome a Designated Term Minister who would stay for a short time, as well as one with a vision for extending their ministry among us. We are hoping to have this minister in place by fall 2024. This is a growing time at Old North, and we are seeking a minister who wants to grow alongside us! |
