Ministry Description |
First Community Church is unusual in that we are a church without walls. We sold our church two years ago and have a rented office space for our pastor. We meet the first Sunday of the month in a rented space at Hope Cottage, an adoption agency. We have Zoom Coffee and Conversation the other Sundays. During Zoom our Pastor leads us in a short service then we discuss questions afterward. Because we are not encumbered with building maintenance it frees us to spend more time and attention to missions within our community. We give our time monthly alternating between The Stew Pot, North Texas Food Bank, White Rock Center of Hope and Social Justice work including Voter Registration. We usually have book club a few times a year and social activities monthly as well as a weekly prayer breakfast. The church is in search of pulpit supply in the near-term beginning August 1st, a Designated Term in the midterm as we continue our search for a full or part-time settled Pastor position. |
