Ministry Description |
Slatersville Congregational Church, UCC is seeking a full-time settled pastor to be the spiritual leader of our church. We are part of a small-town community where we are known as “the Church That Prays”. We value our history and our traditions, but we are most excited about our future – expanding our missions and educational opportunities, living into our Open and Affirming pledge, furthering our outreach to our neighbors and nearby towns, and growing our church in new and different ways. Our church’s story has been a series of journeys, all leading us to our present. Our past relationships with long-term pastors and our multi-generational congregation have given us stability to grow through the years and weather many storms. Our ONA journey taught us what it means to be both welcoming and affirming, to be truly accepting and grateful for all God’s children who walk through our doors or pass through our lives. Our current Search and Call journey has taught us many valuable lessons and pushed us to be a different type of church: one where people are encouraged to live into their faith, explore new ways to celebrate our shared love of God, and find new ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our world. Most of all, this search has drawn us closer together to lift one another in prayer and to have a deeper faith that God is sending the right pastor to us, we just need to believe and be prepared. At SCC, we have strong lay leadership who enjoy supporting and collaborating with our pastor. We are seeking for a pastor who will both lead and teach. We are in search of someone who is an effective communicator. At SCC, we are looking toward our future with excitement and are looking for a pastor who would like to join us on our journey of sharing God’s love and acceptance with all. |
