Ministry Description |
First Congregational UCC is one of eight churches in the northern Illinois town of Pecatonica, population about 2,500. We are situated near the middle of town adjacent to the elementary school and not far from the middle and high school. Our building is mortgage free, handicap accessible, and well maintained with plenty of space for classrooms, meetings and worship. Although we are small in number, we have a desire to serve our community and expand our membership, stewardship and outreach. With that, we have partnered with Old Stone Church in Rockton to form Crooked River Ministries. Our recent experience with the Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenge to our finances and worship attendance. We are willing to give up some traditions of the past in order to move forward into the future with our shared ministry. |
