Ministry Description |
Our church, Second Congregational Church, UCC of Hyde Park, is currently between pastors and is seeking a transitional minister. In many ways, we are a typical, small rural church in a beautiful section of northern Vermont. We have the blessings and challenges that one would expect to find in such a church in this 21st century. After a time of much reflection, we find ourselves ready to make a new commitment to carry God’s love and to find the best path to do God’s work within our church community and beyond. We know we have work to do to more fully discern what God is calling us to do and prepare for this new journey. We need a spiritual leader with a love for and experience in leading a church through a period of transition. We need a minister who can help us channel our energy and enthusiasm in the direction that God is calling us to move. We need their spiritual guidance to help us take the steps needed to prepare for the future as fully as possible. In addition to having a pastor/partner who can inspire us through our worship services and support our parishioners who may be facing difficult times, we need help in creating a strategic plan for the next few years and formalizing our commitment to being an open and affirming church. We need to improve our communication, both among ourselves, and with the greater community we serve, so that we become a well-known source of comfort and aid. We hope you are that person, and that you can see the rewarding opportunities that our church has to make a difference, not only for our congregation, but for our community as a whole.
