Ministry Description |
Our Pastor will support our Congregation in living out our mission to express the love and welcome of Christ through word and action in our community and the wider world. They will lead inspiring and inclusive worship, provide compassionate pastoral care, and expand faith formation opportunities for all ages. We seek a caring, organized, and outgoing leader who will shepherd us toward that goal. They will inspire us. We feel called to generously live our faith in action by embracing and hearing the cry of our neighbor nearby and in the wider world. They will play a vital role bringing the Congregation back together for in-person hybrid worship experience. An organized missional approach would help to prioritize our efforts for social and environmental justice, focus our energies, and provide a better vehicle for meaningful, impactful service. They will be a listener, a diplomat, risk taker and conflict solver. Our Pastor should be outgoing in connecting us with individuals and groups in Natick and beyond with whom we might build new and important relationships of care and service. They will unleash our potential and equip us for service. We desire a Pastor who will equip the saints for the work of ministry. Months of discernment have revealed that we are a congregation motivated by the Holy Spirit. There is a sense that we have not fully achieved our potential. Many try hard to live out our Mission Statement in word and deed. But as a predominantly white, middle class, suburban community, we acknowledge that, however sincere our intentions, our response to those in need comes from a place of detached privilege. We long to be close and real. We are ready to do more. Our Pastor will exhibit a commitment to the core value to the core values of the UCC by continuing testament, extravagant welcome, and changing lives. They will practice the radical hospitality of God and respect the dignity of all God’s people. |
