Ministry Description |
Ada Congregational Church is located in Ada, Michigan, a community rich with natural beauty, strong and varied businesses, and excellent schools. We are looking for a leader who can capitalize on our renewed energy and sustain it through inspiring and effective preaching and by fostering fellowship with and among the congregation. Our mission is to love all, welcome all, and seek justice for all, and we aspire to make a positive impact beyond our walls. Ideally, our pastor will be active in the community, identifying needs and communicating them to the congregation with a passion that inspires action. We are a Just Peace Church, and have begun the process to become Open and Affirming. Our new pastor will help us continue on this path. We feel called to maintain and grow our excellent music, youth, education, and intergenerational programs. We seek a leader who values these things and will work collaboratively with our Music and Choir Directors, Children's Ministry Director, and Youth Leaders. We long to strengthen our spiritual base, both individually and collectively during worship. The pastor should encourage faith formation and Christian development using sacred stories and texts in fresh ways, employing media and technology. Our church includes a large number of families with children. However, we are also blessed with many long-time, older members so pastoral care is important, as is improving communications with the homebound and seniors. We are fortunate to have a congregation abundant in talents and abilities. We would like our pastor to recognize and nurture these, helping us to use them toward the good of the church. At Ada Congregational Church, our membership reflects diversity in religious backgrounds and in our individual walks of faith, yet we are a family with all ages and stages worshiping together, supporting each other, and socializing together. We will lovingly and enthusiastically welcome our new pastor into this family. |
