Ministry Description A dedicated congregation in a classic, small Vermont town seeks a pastor who teaches and inspires, commits to helping us grow our church, and has positive, optimistic energy. The Federated Church draws worshippers from a handful of towns in southwestern Vermont and across the state line in New York. These communities are in no way uniform though, together, they evoke a timeless Vermont. Renowned artists Norman Rockwell and Grandma Moses, poet Robert Frost, and the Green Mountain Boys each played a role in making this tiny part of the world iconic. Arlington, the Federated Church’s home, is a mostly rural town with about 2,400 people, a highly rated school system, and an attentive, forward-looking town government. East Arlington, once a manufacturing village, is part of Arlington. Sunderland and Sandgate, bordering Arlington, are small, heavily forested towns, each with fewer than a thousand people. We’re praying for an inspiring teacher and a community leader to hear the same call from Jesus we’re hearing. The Federated Church excels in community service, and we want this to continue. We sense, too, that our congregation and the community-at-large are hungry for spiritual nourishment. These are two sides of the same coin and what we feel is God’s path to growing our church.
