Ministry Description |
The United Church of Christ is an Open and Affirming congregation with a heart for social justice in our northeast Iowa community. We are seeking a part time minister to partner with us in our mission, lead worship and help us grow spiritually. We are open to shared ministry with another congregation.Discover a welcoming community where faith meets action! Our church is a vibrant, justice-seeking congregation that cherishes both our deep-rooted traditions and the fresh perspectives of new members. Though our typical Sunday attendance is in the teens, we are excited by the recent addition of two new members and the feeling of a close-knit family we share. Music plays a vital role in our worship, with an enthusiastic choir led by a wonderful director, and our unique ukulele group adding a joyful and distinctive harmony, performing in services monthly. While we have recently mourned the loss of a beloved member whose musical and technical gifts enriched our community, we celebrate the legacy he left behind. In this time of pastoral transition, our dedicated Worship Committee is actively shaping meaningful services, and we are delighted to welcome a retired pastor from Tipton who will be sharing his leadership with us twice a month until September. Join us as we explore what it means to be Open and Affirming, reflecting on our church's long-standing commitment, formalized in 2014, to welcome all. |
