First Congregational Church, an Open and Affirming and Green congregation of the United Church of Christ in Cheshire, CT is a welcoming and vibrant congregation seeking to deepen our faith and follow Jesus’ example, pursuing justice and caring for each other, the community, and our world. We seek an Associate Minister to join us in our vision to grow our congregation and our impact in the broader community. As an active, caring, and friendly multigenerational congregation, we wish to open our doors wider and bring in new visitors and members, while sustaining and growing the deep and valued relationships that exist. The Associate Minister serves as a cornerstone for nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of our congregation, with a special focus on enhancing the lives of our younger members and their families. This pivotal role ensures these individuals are fully integrated into the church's activities, creating a nurturing environment where their faith can grow and thrive. Responsibilities span from designing enriching spiritual exploration opportunities, strengthening community ties, leading innovative youth and family programs, to spearheading service and outreach efforts, broadening educational offerings, and mentoring future leaders. The Associate Minister's contributions are crucial in cultivating a dynamic, welcoming, and spiritually fulfilling church environment for everyone. This role demands a person with a passion for spiritual leadership, a deep commitment to the development of young people and their families, and a visionary approach to integrating faith into everyday life. The Associate Minister will play a critical role in shaping the future of our church's community and fostering an environment where all members can experience spiritual growth and connection.
