Nestled literally on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, The Neighborhood Church continues its long-standing tradition as an open-minded and welcoming community of faith. In this beautiful and inspirational setting, we provide for meaningful, welcoming, lively, engaging, thoughtful, and loving ministry for those in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. Our campus was built as an historic and sprawling estate in the 1930’s, and became a home site for our congregation in the early 1950’s. We are strong financially, have rich and engaged leadership, generous with our resources and involvement, and mission-minded—interested in continuing to extend our reach as a congregation of the UCC locally and globally. We have been blessed with gifted, insightful, and loving long-term Senior Ministers through the years, and look forward with great excitement and hope to the God-led discovery of our next. In partnership with, and under the leadership of, our newest settled Senior Minister, we hope to continue to grow and flourish in our efforts to touch the lives of all generations for the cause of Christ. Our life together is engaging, changing, and vibrant in many ways and we are open to God’s leading into a marvelous future. These are exciting, happy, and focused days in our life together—yet challenging. With the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, along with our Senior Minister, we look forward to becoming more and more of the congregation that God needs moving into God’s preferred future. |
