Ministry Description |
Global Ministries is the common witness of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ. Our two denominations have a formal partnership through which Disciples Overseas Ministries and the UCC’s Wider Church Ministries share common staff, budget, programs/projects, and governance in our presence and witness with international partners throughout the global community. Partnering with the United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe, we are seeking a physician for the Chikore Mission Hospital in Chipinge, Zimababwe. This position is employed as a Mission Co-Worker of Global Ministries. Chikore Mission Hospital, formerly Sister Buck Hospital, is run by United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe under the Ministry of Health and Child Care. It was established in 1895 and is a 50 bedded hospital. The Hospital is in Chikore Mission Farm in Chipinge District about 40 km from Chipinge town in Manicaland Province. Chikore Mission Hospital has a catchment population of 12 443 from thirty villages and has three adjacent clinics. The hospital offers various services which are clinical and community based activities. Chikore mission hospital has seven nurses, six nurse aides, seven general hands, three primary counselors, one ambulance driver, one microscopist, one human resources manager and three cooks. Currently the hospital has no resident doctor and also a vacant post for a nurse in-charge. Considering the population to be served by the mission hospital and next reference centres, the hospital is in need of a medical officer/physician. |
