Ministry Description |
St. John's UCC is located in Bluffton, a community of approximately 4000 residents, in Northwest Ohio, Allen County. St. John's is a faithful community-a varied mix of believers-offering open communion, love of community and aid to those in need in the world around us. We seek a full-time minister who will guide us as we reach out to be of service to the area and to the world in which we live. Our Sunday service is traditional with music from the pipe organ and piano and a choir or vocalist. This lovely church was built in 1873 and sits in the heart of the community near the schools with approximately 1200 students, a block from Bluffton University with approximately 900 students, and near seven area churches comprising many denominations. Bluffton's well-maintained downtown sports restaurants, gift shops, a pharmacy, gas stations, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and the community is surrounded by a renowned bike path. St. John's mission is to continue supporting the local community by offering worship, reaching out to home bound persons, supporting the local food pantry, giving to general missions both in the area and in the association and being of service to the community with the guidance of a leader who can be supportive in these endeavors. |
