Ministry Description |
Our journey as a new church start began 10 years ago. We are a 21st-century church that “does church differently.” We have never had a permanent building, choosing to share space with other faith communities or, most recently, renting space in the Ute Indian Museum for our Sunday services. We gather around tables for worship and include special features in our services, such as “Spirit Sightings” (where did you see God this week?). Our pastor who has been with us from the beginning has made the difficult decision to resign to care for her aging parent. We are seeking a progressive pastor who can assist the Leadership Team in navigating the aftermath of our minister’s sudden departure and helping us develop future goals for our church that help us live out our purpose of "Changing the world for good." Our focus is on serving the LGBTQ community, people experiencing homelessness, those living in poverty, and immigrants who are struggling to live in a mostly conservative community. We are open to creative possibilities with those outside the Montrose area, as we worship online 2 sundays a month and would provide remuneration for travel to Montrose 2x a month.
