Ministry Description The Director of Christian Education will provide leadership and oversight of all children, youth and young adults’ educational programing. Essential Functions • Create and communicate a vision for all education curriculum and programs for children, youth and young adults. • Develop and nurture the ministry of leading and sharing with children, youth, young adults, teachers, facilitators, mentors, and parents. • Plan and organize spiritual programming that promotes, encourages and strengthens development of faith for children, youth and young adults. • Communicate in numerous mediums for opportunities of growth and fellowship throughout the faith community (Facebook, Zoom, webpage, email, children’s newsletter, posters, weekly announcements, etc.). • Support pastors and staff in ministering to children, youth and young adults. Other Responsibilities • Participates in all staff meetings • Participates in all worship planning meetings. • Assists in children’s time during worship services. • Plan, organize, and facilitate the Spring Retreat o Organize, conduct, and promote Spring Retreat (once a year, but entails about 3 months of work) o Create brochure, poster, and newsletter information. o Set dates yearly and finalize contracts with camp. o Responsible for all registration o Design theme and activities for the weekend o Purchase supplies and crafts for the weekend Minimum Qualifications • Required: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field • Preferred: Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field • Preferred completion of coursework in Christian Education • Demonstrated skills in effective leadership, facilitation, organization and flexibility.
