Ministry Description Following Christ’s example, TUCC intends to be active in the community by strongly advocating for social justice, ethnic equality, immigration reform, economic and environmental activism, and LGBTQ+ inclusivity. We will continue to open our worship center to diverse groups and organizations who also support that mission. TUCC looks to partner with other spiritual organizations and civic organizations. We intend to reach our goals through congregational, personal time, and financial commitments. Through broadening community knowledge of who and what we are, and what we stand for, we intend to reach our goals. TUCC hopes to build or acquire a permanent worship / community outreach center to support the ministry objectives stated above. Accordingly, TUCC needs vision to help shape that initiative, guiding those of us who will eventually be involved in that effort. TUCC will need resources to accomplish the goal. Taos is a centuries old community, one of both ethnic and spiritual diversity. The surrounding majestic mountains, numerous hot springs, beautiful mesas, and green valleys provide a rich sense of God’s creation. With White, Latino, and Native American inhabitants, Taos County hosts more than thirty churches of varying denominations and spiritual beliefs. TUCC hopes to continue growing its involvement in the wider spiritual community in Taos and the surrounding area. TUCC would like our next minister to be theologically well-versed, possessing patient determination, fearless outreach, intentional generosity, confident humility, and courageous inclusivity. We seek is someone who will help to expand our impact beyond our walls, first by deepening our individual and congregational connection with the Holy Spirit, and with each other, and then growing with us as we become more involved in community actions. Our new minister would be involved in both the religious and civic communities in Taos to bring the congregation more opportunities to serve.
