Ministry Description |
First Congregational (UCC) Church has survived and thrived for 150 years from the reconstruction period after the Civil War to the 21st Century. It was created out of the Beach Institute, a school established by the American Missionaries for the former enslaved community. It is a faithful community, who is seeking a faithful pastor who demonstrates a vision to use his or her network, interacting with youth, outreach ministry and leadership to propel the congregation forward. The pastor has strong communications skills and leadership based upon the doctrine of the United Church of Christ. The congregation expects a minister who has a strong belief in the UCC polity, and the three trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. What will it look like: The congregation aims to leave our past so that we can move forward. Our goal is to embrace spiritual growth, developmental aid, honoring respect, civility and being more Christlike. It will require prayer. |
