Ministry Description |
Where is your church going and what will it look like when you get there? We see our direction in uplifting the life of Molokai through individual church strategic plans. The congregants visualize compassionate, caring churches, visiting people who are confined or have drifted, and that our churches show community leadership and are welcoming of persons of divergent backgrounds. (See Pg 3, LCP) The Molokai Topside Council of Ho`olehua, Kalaiakamanu Hou, Kalua`aha and Waialua Churches are going toward maintaining our commitment and faithful works serving our Lord God Almighty and bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ; in other words serving God and loving our neighbors as ourselves. Coming from a history of living and loving in and through spare and tough conditions and a heritage of Christian fellowship, we know what it will look like. It will look like faithful human beings living and serving in God’s love in our present realities (See QuickInsite Report and Local Church Profile); standing strong in the promises of God. What do you need to get there? We need a Kahu and a community of believers in Jesus Christ. We need just enough to get the jobs God gives us. We need prayer and study of God’s word to guide us where God is determining we are to go. Who are you looking for, to join you on this faith journey? (See pg 10, LCP) The Topside Churches of Molokai are looking for a Kahu who exhibits a spiritual foundation and an ongoing spiritual practice; builds transformational leadership skills in our tiny but motivated congregations; and who cares for all creation. The uniqueness of four congregations is that we are congregations of self-starters; worshipful and reverent; historically grounded; and flexible and tenacious. (See pg12, LCP). We are at once both confident in God’s plan and persistent in asking God for this vision to unfold. |
