Ministry Description |
We are looking for a full time Interim pastor who will minister to a congregation of various ages, backgrounds, ethnicity, sexual orientations and identities, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities. At the present time our congregation is quite diverse with the expectation that this trend will continue. Our Interim Pastor will help us continue to fully embrace our mission statement: “We are an inclusive faith community guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ. Through mission, ministry, prayer and service we strive to serve and support the humanitarian and spiritual needs of our communities.” Our Interim Pastor will intentionally lead our congregation through this transitional period, coming to terms with our congregation’s history; celebrating our congregation’s mission, vision, and purpose; supporting leadership change and development; and committing to new leadership and ministry. As our church has grown in recent years, this will be the first pastoral transition for many of our newer members. We will look to the Interim Pastor as a spiritual guide through the interim period. Since we have recently merged from two congregations into one, we are still in transition from that merger. We are looking for an individual who is a dynamic leader who can connect pastorally for healing and care for all, has deep spiritual insight, has an understanding of group dynamics, and can clearly communicate with staff, committees and the congregation. Because we have a strong presence and partnership with members and groups in our greater community of Morrisville, willingness to interface with the larger community is important as well. It is also of import that the interim pastor is caring and approachable to all. |
